One of the most prominent events organized by Thames International College, the Book Talk Series has become a popular forum for authors, school faculty and students to engage in creative talk outside the classroom.
Crafting a room for readers where they can acquire insights of how a book came into being and a platform for eminent authors to converse about their process of book writing, book talk series is an approach to get acquainted with the journey of the author .
It is a program that captures author’s words about their books and often the story behind the story. Book Talk Series features wide range of talented writers, hear authors read from their books, purchase a copy and have it signed at the end of the program. The key purpose of the series is to learn about the creative process that gets such shrewd stories told.
Book Talk with Binod Chaudhary
‘Binod Chaudhary-My Story from the Streets of Kathmandu to a Billion Dollar Empire’ is an inspiring autobiography of Nepal’s first billionaire, also translated into English. At a book talk organized by Thames International College at the David J. Rusk Library on 1st March, 2016, Mr. Chaudhary gave us insights into his autobiography, as an author and an entrepreneur.

On June 8th 2018, Thames International College organized a book talk with eminent writer and political analyst, Mr. C.K Lal. He acquainted us with his widely talked-about book, ‘To Be a Nepalese.’

On May 30th 2018, Thames International College organized a book talk with politician Lal Babu Pandit. A celebrated politician known for his modest and simple lifestyle enthused students with his autobiography, ‘Singadurbar Badalne Sangharsha’. The autobiography highlights Mr. Lal’s struggle to change Singha Durbar.

On 5th March 2019, Thames international College organized a book talk with Mr. Narayan Wagle, author of the award-winning novel, ‘Palpasa Café.’ In a talk that was held in the David J Rusk Library at Thames, Mr Wagle introduced his latest book, ‘Koreana Coffee Guff.’
Book Talk with Nayan Raj Pandey
Following the popularity of the short stories, ‘Nidaye Jagadamba,’ ‘Khor Vitra ko Joker,’ and ‘Chocolate,’ Nayan Raj Pandey’s most awaited book, ‘Yaar,’ has not only been finally published, but has also won the ‘Padmashree Sahitya Puraskar.’ As a treat to his readers, Thames International College organized a book talk with Nayan Raj Pandey at the David J. Rusk Library withing the Thames premises on January 30th, 2019.

On 14th June 2016, Thames International College organized a book talk with a poet, writer, actor, journalist, politician and philanthropist, Mr. Rabindra Mishra. Founder of the global charity, Help Nepal Network, Mr. Mishra is also the author of the acclaimed book, ‘Khana Pugos, Dina Pugos.’ At the book talk, Mr. Mishra provided insights into practical philanthropy and philanthropic journalism.

Book Talk with Rookmangud Katawal
On January 25, 2017 Thames International College Organized a book talk with Mr. Rookmangud Katawal. The bold and outspoken author and former Army General delivered a talk on his autobiography, ‘Title here,’ providing the audience with insight into Nepali politics and his journey into the army. Including stories from his childhood, student life and career in army, the book also serves as a historical text, detailing the Maoist conflict, the royal coup, and events after the Maoists came to the peace process.
Book Talk with Sujeev Shakya
After the success of his book 'Unleashing Nepal,’ Mr. Sujeev Shakya was all set to announce his new book titled, ‘अर्थात् अर्थतन्त्र.’ On 8th of May 2018, Thames International College organized a book talk with Mr. Sujeev Shakya at the David J. Rusk Library. ‘अर्थात् अर्थतन्त्र’ is Mr. Shakya’s first book in Nepali. It explores various aspects of Nepal’s economy, explaining the impact of Nepal’s rough political journey on its current financial trends.
