World Aids Day 2019 On December 1, 2019 Thames School of Social Sciences marked World Aids Day by engaging with the students and faculty members with a number of activities namely Board of Thoughts and Short Documentary. The session was a small step towards creating a platform to speak more about HIV and AIDS. The objective of this session was to spread awareness about HIV and AIDS amongst the students and faculty members. The students were also handed over a red ribbon, which is a symbol to mark AIDS. During Board of Thoughts activity, the students got an opportunity to discuss such sensitive issues and learned more about HIV and AIDS. In the short documentary, two videos were shown. The first video showed how little knowledge HIV and AIDS can lead to serious issues while the second video showed real life stories, namely Lyra’s story.
