Rotaract Club

Who Are We

The Rotaract Club of Thames International College, chartered on March 7, 2003, is a structured and dynamic club, parented by the Rotary Club of Thamel-Kathmandu. Rooted in the principles of fellowship and service above self, the club offers students a platform for leadership development, international exposure, and personal as well as professional growth.

The club's signature project, Project Nyano, embodies its commitment to social impact by donating warm clothes, mattresses, and blankets to provide safety and comfort to underprivileged communities. Other hallmark initiatives include Rota-Acoustic, Friendship Day Celebration, and events like Club Installation, Deusi Bhailo Celebration, and Club Assembly further exemplify the club's commitment to creating a positive change. Rotaract Club also actively organizes blood donation drives, tree plantation programmes, cleaning campaigns, and skill-enhancing workshops.

Even within its regular general body meetings, the Rotaract Club integrates activities that contribute to members' growth and learning. By combining service with fellowship, the club fosters a community where students can explore their potential while making a meaningful difference in society.

From the President

I am Rtr. Slesha Shrestha, the President of the Rotaract Club of Thames, someone who believes in leading with empathy. I care about showing up, doing the work, and creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves while doing something meaningful. For me, leadership is about growth, compassion, and staying real.

The Rotaract Club of Thames is a youth-led organization focused on community service, social impact, international relationships, and personal development. We work in areas that actually bring impact. From Project Nyano that support marginalized communities during the winter, to Rota Acoustic, a creative platform that brings people together while raising funds for a cause. Our club doesn’t limit itself to just the college, we expand our horizons from different communities of Nepal to the whole world. The impact we create in small communities can be recognized globally.

Moving forward, my goal is to make the club more fun, connected, and consistent. I want members to feel involved, valued, and genuinely excited about the work they do. I want the members to be proud of being part of Rotaract. My aim is simple, grow together, do meaningful work, and leave the club better than we found it.
