The Student Council of Thames International College (SCOTIC) is an independent entity of the college with its own constitution and board. SCOTIC organizes a number of major events each year and serves as a liaison between the administration and the students. The Student Council at Thames looks out for the student’s best interests and encourages them to participate in extracurricular activities. The council not only acts as a mediator but also makes recommendations to management on necessary adjustments and critical matters to be handled.
The club hosts a variety of large events, and its primary goal is to make student #LifeAtThames memorable. Yearly, SCOTIC hosts Freshers' Party, Diversity Day, Grads Night, Hiking, and other activities that students look forward to during their college years.
Greetings,
My name is Samreena Lama, and I am the President of the Student Council of Thames International College for the year 2025–2026. I strongly believe in growth through involvement, by showing up, taking responsibility, and learning from the people around me. For me, college has been more than just classes, and SCOTIC has been a big part of that journey. It has been a space where I discovered confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging that goes far beyond a title.
The Student Council, commonly known as SCOTIC, represents the student body and works closely with the college to strengthen student life at Thames. Our work includes organizing events such as Freshers’, Grads Night, Diversity Day, and other student-led initiatives, while also serving as a bridge between students and the administration. Everything we do is rooted in community. At its core, SCOTIC stands for inclusivity, teamwork, and genuine representation. We strive to create spaces where students feel seen, heard, and excited to be part of college life.
Looking ahead, our focus as a council is to remain student-centered and approachable. With a dedicated team working together, we are committed to creating moments that bring people together, initiatives that leave a lasting impact, and a council culture built on trust and one that students can genuinely connect with and rely on.
