Literary Event 2024

Literary Event 2024

In honor of Saraswati Puja, on the 14th of February, 2024, the David J. Rusk Library hosted the Literary Event, celebrating literature, knowledge, and the arts. This vibrant gathering offered students a culturally enriching experience, fostering a deep appreciation for creativity and learning. The event also created opportunities for academic growth, cultural exploration, and creative inspiration, encouraging participants to embrace literature as a lifelong passion.

Through this event, students actively participated in open mic sessions, short story sharing, and poetry recitations. Attendees described it as:

Being a passionate writer and reader, I never imagined that I would be able to perform an original poem in front of a crowd. However, after seeing everyone and listening to their stories, I felt empowered to share mine.

I absolutely loved the idea of Blind Date with a Book. I'm sort of into fantasy and fiction, so this could be an opportunity for me to try a new genre. I'm ecstatic.

This literary event made me realize how knowledge holds power. It is actually important for us, as students, to learn and invent ideas rather than just mugging-up.
