The ongoing workshop “Saved: Archives कसका लागि?” was a three day exploration of archives as sites of both repair and violence. Participants delved into the politics of our personal archives, both living and evolving. With the main goal of bringing personal archives to life, revisiting own stories searching for the counter narratives within them.
Manjit Lama shared his process of exhibition-making and his work on collectively bringing together personal archives, and Anudeep Dewan shared her research fieldnotes and insights from her work with oral histories.
The sessions ended with all the participants reflecting and writing their old stories, trying to make sense of the absence in their archives or questioning the validity of known narratives.
