Office of Student Affairs and Admissions

The Office of Student Affairs and Admissions works with all aspects of students’ lives at Thames, starting right from the pre-admission stage to until they graduate from the collegee. The office complements the college’s vision to become a premier academic institution in the nation and works to not only to enhance the quality of life of its students but also to drive student learning outside the classroom environment.

The Office of Student Affairs and Admission is primarily responsible for :

Student Experience

The Office of Student Affairs and Admission is committed to enable the students to be a part of and contribute to a participatory, inter disciplinary and active learning environment during their time at Thames and provide guidance to students to make educational and career decisions. It works to coordinate student support services at Thames such as conducting programs and activities that equips the students with necessary knowledge and skills to help them succeed both in academic and personal life, coordinating with student clubs, conducting activities to make a meaningful educational experience for students beyond their classroom. The Office of Student Affairs works closely with the student clubs; both Structured clubs at Thames and Interest Based clubs at Thames to help them participate in an active learning environment at Thames by fostering student engagement, encouraging teamwork and helping students to learn and improve organizational skills.

Academic Counselling

Academic counseling is one of the important components of the Office of Student Affairs at Thames International College. The advisors work with and assist students throughout their student life by helping them to adjust to college life, helping them to abide by the values, expectations and resources in campus and help them find purpose in their educational experience. The counselors schedules meetings with the students, get feedback from the students regularly on student experiences, address student’s academic concerns and assist the students to achieve their academic goals. The Academic Counselors work with college administration and faculty to ensure that students have access to information and services that could help them succeed at Thames.

Academic Advisors support the students in the following ways:

  • Meet individually with students each term to know about their experiences at Thames
  • Collect feedback from students with regard to curricular and extracurricular engagements
  • Advise students on the various activities on and beyond campus
  • Coordinating Student Support Services including Student Tutor programs, Writing Centre and Math’s Centre
  • Work with students who are not meeting the minimum standards for satisfactory academic progress (including attendance requirements)
  • Create personalized success plans to assist students in achieving their academic goals

Admissions

The Office of Student Affairs is also responsible for Admissions at Thames. The office provides complete support to students who want to study at Thames. It handles college visit, advisory session, application form, interview and enrollment.
