Thames International College Hosts Diversity Day 2025

Thames International College Hosts Diversity Day 2025

The Student Council of Thames International College, in collaboration with the Heart and Mind Hub, Writing Center, and Q Initiative, organized Diversity Day 2025—a vibrant celebration of culture, identity, and inclusivity within the college community. The event aimed not only to honor cultural diversity but also to amplify voices, identities, and narratives that often remain unheard, creating a platform for representation and unity.

The day featured a wide range of engaging activities. Students engaged in stalls showcasing business and culture, while others showcased traditions through mehendi, cultural dance performances, and a ramp walk featuring diverse cultural costumes accompanied by music. Fun and interactive games like dahi handi, human bingo further energized the celebration, keeping students actively engaged throughout the day.

The Heart and Mind Hub contributed with an exhibition titled “Me and My Story.” This powerful showcase provided space for personal narratives and lived experiences, inviting participants to witness and reflect on voices too often overlooked. It celebrated individuality while fostering empathy, inclusivity, and understanding.

Meanwhile, the Writing Center brought creativity into the celebration through displays of student art produced during the “Podcast & Chill” sessions. These works reflected themes of diversity, justice, and inclusivity in unique and expressive ways, highlighting the importance of art as a medium of dialogue.

As an annual tradition, Diversity Day continues to stand as a reminder of acceptance, respect, and unity at Thames International College. This year’s celebration emphasized the beauty of different backgrounds, traditions, identities, and ways of life, ultimately showcasing diversity as a source of strength, growth, and inclusivity.
