Who Are We

The Rotaract Club of Thames International College, chartered on March 7, 2003, is a structured and dynamic club, parented by the Rotary Club of Thamel-Kathmandu. Rooted in the principles of fellowship and service above self, the club offers students a platform for leadership development, international exposure, and personal as well as professional growth.

The club's signature project, Project Nyano, embodies its commitment to social impact by donating warm clothes, mattresses, and blankets to provide safety and comfort to underprivileged communities. Other hallmark initiatives include Rota-Acoustic, Friendship Day Celebration, and events like Club Installation, Deusi Bhailo Celebration, and Club Assembly further exemplify the club's commitment to creating a positive change. Rotaract Club also actively organizes blood donation drives, tree plantation programme, cleaning campaigns, and skill-enhancing workshops.

Even within its regular general body meetings, the Rotaract Club integrates activities that contribute to members' growth and learning. By combining service with fellowship, the club fosters a community where students can explore their potential while making a meaningful difference in society.

From the President

I am Rtr. Samir Karki, and it is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the President of the Rotaract Club of Thames International College for the Rotary Year 2024/25. From the moment I joined Thames, I was inspired by the incredible impact the club has made through fellowship, service, and leadership. My goal in leading the Rotaract Club is not only to nurture my own growth through community service and volunteerism but also to guide the team in continuing to create meaningful change within and beyond the Thames.

Guided by Rotary's mantra, Service Above Self, I am committed to taking the club to new heights while inspiring fellow youth to grow both personally and professionally. With the unique networking opportunities offered by thousands of Rotaract Clubs nationally, I aim to provide a platform for students across all faculties to develop leadership skills, build networks, and experience the power of teamwork.

I encourage members and students alike, to step out of their comfort zones, learn through hands-on community projects, and make a tangible difference. Beyond service, the Rotaract Club is a space for members to cultivate problem-solving skills, foster resilience, and build lifelong friendships that inspire and motivate.
