Cupid's Quill

Cupid's Quill

Love and poetry have been intertwined for centuries, with poetry serving as a timeless medium for expressing the depths of human emotions. From the passionate sonnets of Shakespeare to modern free-verse declarations of affection, poetry has long been a vessel for articulating love in its many forms—romantic, platonic, and self-reflective.

Recognizing this profound connection, the Social Work Club of Thames organized Cupid’s Quill on February 13, 2025 as a celebration of love through the art of poetry, which also served as a meaningful fundraiser for a noble cause. The Club has always held a tradition of celebrating love in its many forms, and this event played a way to honor Valentine's Week. The entire event aimed to create a space that brought people together to celebrate and immerse themselves in the spirit of love.

Moreover, the fundraiser supported Project Sahas, an initiative that works to raise awareness about Gender-Based Violence. Through this initiative, Social Work Club seeks to create a broader impact on both the community and the individuals by organizing self-defense lessons for schools outside of the valley.

The event painted an atmosphere filled with love, fun, excitement, and everything nice. Diving into the realm of theatrics and colorful canvases, participants witnessed a myriad of emotions and feelings that pirouetted all around. From the most-awaited poetry segment to musical performances to plays, SWCT ensured that Cupid's Quill provided every and all a chance to express their feelings for their dear ones, while also testing the strength of the formed bonds among students through interactive games and stalls.

Safe-to-say, the event was a great success, bringing joy and excitement not only to Thamians but also to participants from different colleges. Cupid's Quill is a reminder for everyone that celebrating love goes beyond romantic gestures; it encompasses spreading kindness, building connections, and making a meaningful difference.
