We celebrate women and men, children and educators, global milestones, and even the simple joy of existence. So why not dedicate a day to honor the essence of love and affection? Love, in its many forms, deserves recognition for its power to connect, inspire, and heal. Whether it’s the love shared among family, friends, or partners, it’s a universal bond that transcends boundaries and enriches our lives.
The Social Work Club of Thames commemorates this beautiful emotion all the while serving as a fundraiser that annually supports meaningful causes. For 2024, on February 14, “La Vie En Rose,” named after the famous French expression meaning “Life in Pink,” cherished the moments and relationships that bring warmth and meaning to our days, while focusing on inclusivity and compassion by organizing a picnic for the children from CYMA Nepal in Bhutkhel Park, Tokha.
On Rose Day at Thames, the club brings in various sponsors and sets up stalls run by student-owned businesses, giving them the required exposure and support through the college community.
The primary appeal of the event is roses, hence the name, which are dedicated as well as sold to students, faculty and everyone participating. The event also features smaller activities such as games, confessions, music dedications, love-card exchanges, and a captivating theatre play.
