On August 24th, the Writing Center at Thames International College, in collaboration with SCOTIC, hosted a pre-Diversity Day event titled चियागफ २: Podcast & Chill Edition. This unique gathering combined reflective listening with casual creative engagement, providing students with a relaxed yet thought-provoking space.
During the session, students listened to a podcast that explored themes of inclusivity, diversity, and justice. The format encouraged critical dialogue, allowing participants to reflect on the ideas presented and exchange perspectives over a warm cup of tea.
What made the session distinctive was its creative atmosphere. While engaging with the podcast, students could choose to doodle, take notes, embroider, knit, crochet, or work on other personal tasks. This approach fostered mindful listening while keeping hands gently occupied. Students were also invited to bring their own materials, personalizing the experience further.
चियागफ २: Podcast & Chill Edition highlighted the value of blending creativity with conversation, offering a space where reflection, expression, and dialogue came together in celebration of diversity and inclusivity.
(Thames Writing Center (WC) is a safe space for students to come and seek help with their writing, irrespective of their command over the language or their confidence regarding it. With peer-led tutoring sessions and organized events centered around academic and creative writing, the WC aims to help students become better writers and thinkers.)
