Project Abhaya Holds Governance & Digital Literacy Fellowship at Thames

The Career Development Center (CDC) at Thames International College, in collaboration with Project Abhaya and Civil Outlook, successfully organized a two-day fellowship aimed at educating and empowering youth on Governance and Digital Literacy on January 10 and 11. The fellowship attracted students and individuals eager to drive change in Nepal's evolving landscape of digital privacy, governance roles, and policy frameworks that shape these social contexts.

CDC continuously seeks opportunities that enhance students' professional growth. In alignment with this mission, Project Abhaya and Civil Outlook provided an ideal platform to raise awareness and engage students—particularly from the School of Social Sciences—in meaningful discussions. Participants had the opportunity to interact with esteemed speakers, Mr. Sachin Timalsena, Former National Coordinator of Youth Congress Nepal, and Mr. Aashish Regmi, Executive Chief of the Policy Study & Research Academy, CPN (UML). Their insights facilitated thought-provoking conversations on governance structures, policy-making, and digital rights, encouraging students to critically analyze the role of civic engagement in shaping society.

At Thames International College, the belief remains strong that equipping students with a foundational understanding of governance, legal systems, and digital tools for civic participation nurtures critical perspectives. This knowledge empowers students to envision themselves as changemakers, actively contribute to civic initiatives, and drive meaningful societal impact.
