On June 28, Tribhuvan University, in collaboration with the Central Department of Psychology and the Master's Program in Counseling Psychology, hosted its first-ever national conference on Psychology and Counseling titled "Psychology in the Changing World." This one-day event gathered professionals, educators, counselors, and students from various institutions to present research papers and lead insightful seminars. The conference aimed to explore the evolving dynamics of the modern world and their impact on the field of psychology.

Representing Thames at the knowledge-rich gathering were faculty members Ashish Kafle, Monalisha Maharjan, Prajwal Acharya, Pratiksha Rajopadhyaya, and Rubina Awale, along with psychology student Bigyashree Khatri. Seminar topics ranged from child and adolescent mental health and workplace behavior to educational psychology and contemporary issues in counseling and mental well-being.

Faculty member Ashish Kafle proudly presented his research paper titled "Individualism-Collectivism and Psychological Inflexibility among Emerging Adults." The study examined how value orientations—individualism and collectivism—relate to psychological inflexibility, a factor closely tied to overall mental well-being in individuals aged 18 to 25. The research was grounded in a cross-sectional study involving 266 emerging adults from various parts of Kathmandu Valley.
