Finding Treasure is an annual initiative by Thames Sustainability Club, dedicated to collecting preloved and unused items from students and giving them a second life. By extending the lifespan of everyday objects, the program takes a tangible step toward mitigating the mounting waste crisis and promoting a culture of mindful consumption.
This year, the club partnered with Kriye Team during the Echoes of Art event to highlight the potential of reclaimed materials. While Makers & Muses participants transformed trash into textured artworks, Finding Treasure ran alongside, collecting donations and demonstrating how art and sustainability can go hand-in-hand. Held in celebration of Environment Month, this collaborative effort championed the motto of sustainability, reuse, recycle, and reimagine.
Thames Sustainability Club plans to host upcycling workshops, and forge partnerships with eco-conscious businesses, ensuring that every item, and every idea, continues its journey toward a greener future.
