The Ad Making Workshop was successfully organized by The Management Club in collaboration with SOBM (School of Business Management), with the objective of introducing students to the fundamentals of advertising, storytelling, and content creation. The session began with an interactive discussion where guests shared memorable advertisements, followed by practical insights into what makes an effective advertisement, including understanding the target audience, delivering a clear message, creating memorable slogans, using strong visuals, and incorporating a compelling call to action. The resource person emphasized the importance of storytelling in marketing through examples of successful campaigns by brands such as InDrive and BigMart, while introducing the AIDA framework (Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action) as a guide for creating engaging advertisements. Students also learned the significance of emotional connection, strategic thinking, and creativity in marketing, along with the 80/20 content planning principle, where valuable and engaging content is balanced with promotional content. The workshop concluded by encouraging participants to think like marketers and create advertisements that not only capture attention but also build meaningful connections with audiences and effectively communicate a brand's message.
Overall, the session inspired students to approach advertising with a marketer's mindset and equipped them with valuable skills to create compelling campaigns that effectively communicate a brand's message and connect with audiences.
