The School of Social Sciences (SOSS) of Thames International College, in collaboration with Avaani Foundation conducted a session on Autism Awareness in observance of World Autism Awareness Day today at the auditorium. The session focused on the cognitive understanding of autism and exploring the professional opportunities in the field of autism support, research and related areas. Avaani Foundation is a non-profit company, based in Kathmandu, Nepal working to create a better environment for children with autism enabling them to perform their daily activities and reach their full potential by reducing their physical, emotional and mental barriers through various therapy services. Students also got to engage with the facilitators to get insights on the ongoing support that children with autism are getting and also the future prospect for the same.
