On 10th August 2026, a Book Talk on Brandsutra 2.0 by Ujaya Shakya was organized by the School of Business and Management (SoBM) and the Management Club, in collaboration with the David J. Rusk Library as part of the Thames Business Gabfest.
Joining the session virtually from abroad, Ujaya Shakya shared insights into Brandsutra 2.0, discussing what inspired him to write the book, how its chapters are structured, and how the book builds on his earlier work, Brandsutra 1.0. His discussion gave students a closer look at the ideas and experiences behind the book and the evolving nature of branding.
The session also featured Umang Shakya, who brought the conversation closer to home by discussing the Nepali market, local consumers, and how branding works within Nepal’s unique business environment. His perspectives helped students connect broader branding concepts with real-world examples from the Nepalese market.
The book talk provided students with practical insights into marketing, branding, consumer behaviour, and the dynamics of the Nepali market, encouraging them to look at branding not only as a business strategy but also as a reflection of how consumers think, choose, and connect with brands.
Through sessions like these, the Thames Business Gabfest continues to create opportunities for students to engage with industry perspectives, contemporary ideas, and practical knowledge beyond the classroom.
