Community Connect: Pride Edition
Heart and Mind Hub x The Q Initiative
A space of connection, celebration, and solidarity, this Pride edition of Community Connect brought students together to share stories of identity, resilience, acceptance, and love in all its forms.
Organized by Heart and Mind Hub in collaboration with The Q Initiative, the event featured an article archive board on queer issues and activism, an LGBTQI+ zine with a page for each letter of the community, and a compilation board on queer representation in media, rights, and wins. Quizzes and a flag-making activity added a playful, creative touch.
The session was a heartwarming success, drawing participation from students, faculty, and teachers across the college, not just the queer community. Through honest conversations and intentional knowledge-sharing, it helped students feel seen, represented, and reminded that Thames is a space where they belong.
At its core, this Community Connect was about visibility — for Heart and Mind Hub and The Q Initiative — so students can build community, access support, and feel resourced by the spaces created for them.
