Community Service Outreach Program collaborates with Nepal Traffic Police

Thames Community Service Outreach Program (CSOP) collaborated with Nepal Traffic Police for a month-long volunteering initiative that allowed participants to engage in the ongoing efforts to strengthen traffic enforcement in Kathmandu. During the initial weeks, police officials conducted training workshops and sessions at Baggikhana Traffic Police Station to help volunteers understand the mechanisms of traffic rules and regulations. This served as a foundational learning experience—sparking dialogue, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the critical role of traffic personnel in Kathmandu's bustling streets.

Following the orientation, selected volunteers were given the opportunity to contribute directly by working alongside Kathmandu Traffic Police for a total of 30 hours. Throughout this period, they actively assisted in managing traffic at key junctions, raising public awareness about traffic rules, aiding pedestrians, and supporting community outreach initiatives centered on road safety. The traffic volunteer program was launched as part of CSOP's ongoing commitment to civic engagement and experiential learning.

Kudos to the volunteers for their enthusiasm, discipline, and willingness to step into an unfamiliar yet essential role. This not only strengthened the bond between citizens and the police force but also laid the groundwork for continued collaboration in promoting safety, awareness, and active citizenship.
