On Jan 12, 2026 Thames International College hosted a guest lecture session on Performance Management and Appraisal. The session was hosted by Mr. Mohan Thapa. He explored how organizations effectively measure performance while aligning individual goals with organizational success.

Students interacted with the speaker and further got an idea about how the organizations handle recruitment, training and employee motivation. Alongside this, the organizational and team goal was further discussed, emphasizing the importance of the alignment between the two. Likewise, the appraisal process, its importance in performance management alongside planning for correcting deficiencies and corrective actions were also discussed. Adding on to this, the importance of data based feedback, roles of HR in management, methods of performance appraisal problems and using proper tools to understand potential problems.

The session ended with a light note where students participated in a Kahoot quiz making the session more fun and interactive. Altogether, this was an informative and useful session where students studying Industrial and organizational psychology could have an insight into the working mechanisms of how performance is evaluated, managed and appraisal is done accordingly.
