Movie Screening; a Pre-Valentine event by Social Work Club

Marking the beginning of the month-long celebration of Valentines, the Social Work Club of Thames successfully hosted a movie screening of Jab We Met on the 4th of February 2026 officially kicking off Cupids Quill. This movie screening was a part of our fund raising initiative for their social action P3 project which aims to promote period health and hygiene along with sustainable alternatives to industrial pads. The movie Jab We Met was thoughtfully chosen as it beautifully portrays themes of love, self discovery, emotional healing and personal growth reminding everyone that love is not just about romance but also finding oneself and fostering genuine connections.

The auditorium was filled with the aroma of cheese popcorn which made the auditorium feel like an actual movie theatre. Most people came with their friends and their plus ones and the ones who came alone did not feel left out as the environment was cozy, lively and welcoming with everyone having fun reciting the iconic lines from the movie and singing and dancing along with the songs. The shared laughter and collective silence during touching moments created a sense of unity and warmth, perfectly capturing the essence of Valentine’s Day.

The movie screening was a successful and a memorable experience raising a total of Rs. 1100. While students enjoyed reciting iconic dialogues, singing along to songs, and sharing laughter with friends. They were also part of a meaningful social cause through the fundraising for the P3 Project, which spreads awareness about menstrual hygiene. It allowed students to celebrate love in its many forms like friendship, self-love, and companionship while fostering togetherness within the college community making it both enjoyable and impactful.
