New Sessions for the New Batch: The Zero Semester

A fresh beginning to your four-year journey at Thames.

So, what’s all the buzz about?
Thames has introduced Zero Semester, a series of introductory sessions designed to help new students ease into college life while discovering diverse ways of learning.

From sharpening your reading as well as critical thinking skills through Thinkshop by Niranjan Kunwar, to developing essential soft skills through interactive masterclasses . Zero Semester is all about learning that goes beyond textbooks.

If you have a creative spark, you can explore your design interests through Canva classes, where you’ll learn to design, create, and communicate visually. As a college that values compassion and meaningful connection, Thames has ensured that the session on Compassionate Conversations help students engage in thoughtful, empathetic conversations and build a sense of community from the very start. Alongside this, Nasala Chitrakar engages students in the greater question that needs attention, "Why study?". This helps participants understand the meaning behind their deliberate actions. Not only this, the Heart and Mind Hub also engages students in a session titled "Emotional Intelligence", helping students grasp the broader concept of emotions, and what does it actually take to be emotionally intelligent as well.

This introductory program is designed to help students broaden their life skills alongside their academic learning , shaping a well-rounded foundation for the years ahead.
