Songwriting Workshop with Rochak Dahal Ends on a Spectacular Note

The Songwriting Workshop, titled "When Words Become Songs," concluded in a soulful, performance-filled evening on June 16, celebrating the musical expression of its participants. Over the course of four days, students worked on crafting original lyrics, exploring melody, and storytelling through music; with celebrated artist Rochak Dahal joining as a special guest and supportive spectator. The event offered a platform for both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts to showcase their talents and apply what they had learned about transforming written words into powerful, heartfelt songs.

Organized by the Writing Center and the Music Club, the workshop created an inclusive atmosphere where creativity flourished. Students performed their compositions with confidence, sharing pieces that reflected personal experiences and emotional journeys.

The evening was a testament to the remarkable talent within Thames, highlighting how voices—when given the space and support—can truly shine. To wrap it up, Rochak Dahal surprised the audience with a special live performance of unreleased tracks from his upcoming album, leaving the crowd moved and deeply connected through the universal language of music.

(The Music Club of Thames serves as a hub for music enthusiasts that emphasizes an environment where students can come together to share their love for music and expand their musical knowledge. The club offers a dedicated space for students to practice and perform with unplugged sessions for showcasing vocal and instrumental abilities.)
