Thames Business GAB Fest 2026: A Celebration of Business and Innovation

The School of Business and Management at Thames International College, in collaboration with the Management Club, successfully concluded Thames Business GAB Fest 2026, a five-day business fest held from August 10 to 14, 2026. The fest was designed to foster entrepreneurial thinking, leadership, creativity, communication, teamwork, and practical business skills among students through a dynamic blend of competitions, interactive activities, exhibitions, professional engagement, and expert-led sessions.

A major highlight of the festival was the panel discussion titled “Reimagining Nepal: Leadership, Reforms & Economic Prosperity,” held on Friday, August 14, at the Thames Auditorium. The discussion brought together prominent professionals and industry leaders to explore Nepal’s evolving leadership landscape, institutional reforms, economic opportunities, and pathways toward long-term economic prosperity.

The panel featured :

  • Bhuban Kandel, former Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank
  • Amul Baidya, Head of Marketing at Golchha Group
  • Bhawani Rana, former President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI)
  • Dr. Manu Karki, CEO of Eco Sathi Nepal and Founder of Aama Surakshya Nepal.
  • Asmita Mainali,CEO of Confidence Steps as Moderator 

 

The panelists shared their experiences and perspectives on Nepal’s economic development, entrepreneurship, governance, leadership, and the complementary roles of the public and private sectors. The session also provided students with an opportunity to engage directly with experienced professionals and gain practical insights beyond the classroom. 

 

The fest also featured a Book Talk with Ujaya Shakya, author of Brandsutra 2.0, Founder of Outreach and First Vice President of the Advertising Association of Nepal. With his contribution to Nepal’s evolving marketing and communications ecosystem, Shakya shared insights from his book and discussed key ideas and perspectives on branding and communication. Umang Shakya, Founder and Executive Director of DigitalIN and Group Director of Outreach Nepal, also joined the session and shared his perspectives on marketing and branding in Nepal and the global context with the students.

 

Throughout the five-day fest, students participated in a wide range of competitions and interactive learning activities, including the Ad Making Competition, Hot Seat Challenge, Case Study Competition and Tag the Brand. Adding to the experience, a Professional Photoshoot provided students with an opportunity to enhance their professional presence for their academic and career needs. 

 

The fest also featured Industry-led workshops designed to provide students with practical and creative insights. Luma Creatives, a marketing and media company, conducted an Ad Making Workshop focusing on cinematography and connecting with audiences through emotions. Meanwhile, Mridul Basnet, a soft skills trainer, Toastmaster, and business and economics graduate, facilitated a Case Study Workshop that helped students strengthen their analytical skills. 

 

Another major attraction was the Business Exhibition, where students showcased their projects, ideas, and practical applications across four key areas : Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Human Resource Management. The exhibition provided students with a platform to demonstrate their creativity, business knowledge, analytical abilities, and entrepreneurial thinking while engaging with fellow students, faculty members, and guests.

The winners of the competition were recognized with prizes and awards, celebrating their creativity, effort, and performance throughout the fest. At the same time, the event provided valuable opportunities for students to interact and network with faculty members, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and fellow students, allowing them to exchange ideas and experiences .

The successful completion of Thames Business GAB Fest 2026 reflects the commitment of the School of Business and Management and the Management Club to creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences. By combining competitions, exhibitions, professional activities, expert sessions, and industry interaction, the fest provided students with opportunities to apply their knowledge, explore new ideas, and gain exposure to the business world beyond the classroom. 

With enthusiastic participation throughout the five-day event, Thames Business GAB Fest 2026 concluded on a meaningful  note, leaving students with valuable experiences, practical insights, and lasting memories. The fest served as a platform for students to think critically, create confidently, collaborate effectively, and engage with the evolving world of business, contributing to their growth as aspiring professionals, entrepreneurs, and future business leaders.
