Thames International College successfully hosted Thames InnoWave 2026 on September 15, 2026, organized by the School of Information Technology ,IT Centre and the IT Club of Thames International College. Held under the theme "Intelligent Transformation: The Age of AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning," the event brought together students, academics, and industry experts to explore the growing role of intelligent technologies in shaping the future.
The day began with opening remarks by Mr. Rajendra Man Sherchan, Chairman of Thames International College, followed by a keynote session on "The Future of Tech: AI, ML and DL" by Yunika Bajracharya. This was followed by a panel discussion on "Impact of AI on Human Behaviour and Society," moderated by Arun Singh Nepali, with panelists Kshitiz Rimal, Birodh Rijal, and Dipesh Jnawali sharing their perspectives on how artificial intelligence continues to shape the way people think, work, and interact.
After a lunch break, participants took part in a hands-on Prompt Engineering workshop facilitated by Aashutosh Poudel, Co Founder of Infoshapers. The workshop introduced participants to the practice of crafting clear and effective instructions for AI systems, helping them get more out of the tools they use for learning, research, and everyday work.
The day concluded with the award distribution ceremony, led by Sunny Koirala, Coordinator of the School of Information Technology, where the college recognized the achievements of Thames Hackathon 2026 participants, along with the volunteers who worked behind the scenes to make the event possible.
Alongside the main sessions, the event featured a Project Exhibition showcasing solutions built during Thames Hackathon 2026, an IoT Product Showcase featuring student built IoT projects, and an immersive Escape Room activity organized by the IT Club.
Thames InnoWave 2026 showed the college's commitment to helping students think seriously about how intelligent technology fits into everyday life, while giving them real chances to build, present, and get recognized for their work.
The School of Information Technology continues to embrace the fast changing world of technology through its undergraduate programs in Information Management and Computer Application. As artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning increasingly shape the way industries operate, the school's curriculum keeps pace by integrating these areas directly into student learning, alongside subjects like cybersecurity and data analytics.
