Literary Event 2025

Literary Event 2025

On February 3, 2025, the David J. Rusk Library held their annual Literary Event in honor of Saraswati Puja, celebrating wisdom and the love of writing, art, and literature. Poets, authors, artists, and enthusiasts came together for an afternoon of lively discussions, poetry and literature recitations, and open mic opportunities to commemorate the goddess Saraswati, who is revered for her knowledge, music, and creativity.

Few highlights of the literary event:

Poetry recitation
Participants shared classic poems, contemporary works, and even original compositions, exposing the audience to a diverse range of poetic styles, themes, and voices. Students were also encouraged to bring in works that were related to knowledge or any topic of choice, written in any language.

Short stories session
A story sharing session where participants brought written novels and short stories to share freely with their peers. It sought to provide a platform for students to showcase their imaginative writing skills and participate in meaningful discussions about storytelling, characters, and narrative.

Art Activity: Self-Expression through Colors of Knowledge
Art has long been recognized as a powerful form of therapy. Through vibrant colors and expressive brushstrokes, participants conveyed their emotions, ideas, and perspectives in diverse and meaningful ways. This creative process provided a unique avenue for personal connections and learning, transforming art into more than just a visual experience. It was a celebration of self-expression and emotional engagement.

This year’s literary event was a great way to bring people together and share the joy of the festival knowledge, while ensuring a sense of artistic belief and self-expression.
