Writing Center

Thames Writing Center (WC) is a safe space for students to come and seek help with their writing, irrespective of their command over the language or their confidence regarding it. With peer-led tutoring sessions and organized events centered around academic and creative writing, the WC aims to help students become better writers and thinkers.

How the Writing Center works?

The tutors at the Writing Center will be present at scheduled hours to offer students the help they need with their writing as well as reading, especially helping them to think through concepts using different strategies and resources. Additionally, students will receive academic materials designed to enhance their reading and writing skills, enabling them to fully immerse themselves in the learning process and develop strong foundational competencies.

What will a session be like?

The session will take a minimum of 15 minutes, however, it may go up to an hour if the student requires extensive assistance and guidance.

How to book a session?

It is advised that students schedule appointments in advance by email, indicating the type of assistance they require, the time they would like to receive it, and an attachment of the writing they need help with. The session will be done either online (Zoom or Google meet) or physically (Writing Center Space). Whether the session has been canceled, rescheduled, or confirmed, students will be informed by phone or email.
